It’s sunshine Sunday, Princess Piggy Poo

Princess Piggy Poo SunshinePrincess Piggy Poo loves daylight saving time. Like the rest of us, she isn’t sure why we still spring forward an hour or fall back an hour about six months later, but the promise of more sunshine later in the day makes her giddy with delight.

Normally, I am terrified to let Princess Piggy Poo out of doors for fear she will escape or be abducted by a cavy craving bird of prey. Lately, however, we’ve been sunning ourselves every Sunday in the late afternoon. Sunshine Sunday has become our special time to relax and rejuvenate in the California sun. Even though my guinea pig appears to have a stress-free existence, Princess Piggy Poo revels in the chance to lounge on my chest and let the warm golden rays dance off her white fur.

Trusting Princess Piggy Poo to stay put while we unwind keeps me on edge but it seems wrong to exile my guinea pig from the great outdoors. Watching her fur glisten in the natural light and listening to the chirping birds have become a favorite activity. Now that my cavy and I have an extra hour of sunlight every day, maybe we can schedule a few extra dates for chasing sunbeams from the comfort of our patio furniture.

How sweet it is to enjoy a sunny Sunday time in nature. Minus the fear of a bird of prey, it is wonderful for Princess Piggy Poo and you to enjoy some quiet peace time together. A precious hour or two of quality warm sun embrace is good for the soul. I can easily imagine how her coat of soft fur would shine like diamonds . . . as she lies in the lap of luxury! 🙂
